This grave marker, which is at Maple Grove Cemetery,
located at 535 Hudson Street, Hackensack, New Jersey, reveals that Henry Dauer, Jr. served in the United States Navy during, and I am assuming because of his date of death and stone style of grave marker, World War I. It is unusual not to have the war mentioned on grave marker.
On the Honor Roll List, which was in the paper in October 5, 1918, there is an
Arthur M. Dauer and an Arthur Newton Dauer and I do not know his relation to these two men, if any, at the present time. We cannot know the age of Henry Dauer, Jr. since there is no date of birth on the grave marker.
Henry Dauer, Jr. was not on the Original Honor Roll List, but this confirms his connection to Hackensack by being buried within its borders since passing and forevermore.
